FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Placing Your Order
It is very important to me I get to know my clients. I like to find out your taste and preferences so that my design is personal to you. Get in touch with me to set up an initial consultation. Bring along pictures, colour swatches, mood board/log and whatever else you think important. I will then get back to you with a design and quotation.
How Much Will It Cost Me?
All my cakes are bespoke and are made to order. Therefore the price of each cake will depend on the size, design and ingredients used. Rest assured, no matter what your budget is, I can design something special just for you. Please contact me and I will be happy to discuss your needs.
I am unable to eat certain ingredients, are you be able to cater to my needs?
Yes I am. I am familiar with a number of dietary requirements. However, please note that whilst I take strict precautions to prevent cross contamination, all my cakes are baked in the same kitchen. Read more.
Any dietary and allergy requirements must be discussed prior to booking. Any changes after a booking is made will affect the total price.
Any 'free-from' orders are made to your specification. However all orders are made in a kitchen where ingredients such as nuts, gluten and diary are used.
Do you require a deposit?
Yes I do. A 50% deposit is required on confirmation of a booking. Please refer to the Terms & Conditions.
How far in advance do I need to make a booking?
Ideally I would like to have as much notice as possible to plan your celebration cake, especially when working on more intricate designs. However, I understand sometimes unforeseen circumstances arise and things do not go to plan. I may be able to take last minute bookings depending on time and availability. Do get in touch with me to discuss this further.
I need to cancel my booking. Can I get my deposit back?
Yes, if you are within the cancellation period. A 10% administrative fee will be deducted. Please refer to the Terms & Conditions.
Can I change the design of my cake?
I will endeavour to incorporate any changes to the design if I am able to. An additional charge may be incurred as certain ingredients may have been purchased and certain elements of the cake made.
There are a number of different materials used for making the decorations on your cake. Whilst some of them are edible (for example, gumpaste, fondant and chocolate), some are not (for example, styrofoam , florist wire, florist tape and wooden skewers). It is therefore imperative that these decorations are not consumed. Please inform us if you wish to only have edible decorations on your cake.
Do you deliver?
Yes I do. However, an extra cost may be incurred.
Care for your cake
Your cake would have been lovingly prepared and we want to make sure that it stays in its pristine condition when you cut and serve it. To this end we ask that when choosing a place to display your cake, you select a a cool spot out of direct sunlight and away from any heat source.
